Have you heard of QVC’s Sprouts Contest? It was a competition for inventors that searches for the “next big thing” in consumer products. But long before the “PediSand” hands-free foot file won first place it that contest, it was the brainchild of inventor, Karmen Hart of Little Rock, Arkansas. You see, Karmen is an esthetician who occasionally suffered from sore hands after giving pedicures all day. Then one day, while giving herself a pedicure, she had an idea that would eliminate her bending over and allow her leg muscles to do the work instead of her hands. Karmen constructed a crude prototype of her concept from a block of Styrofoam. Then she glued sandpaper to the exterior and showed it to her good friend Carolyn Jones. Carolyn had experience as an inventor and filing patents.

Two heads are better than one

The two friends collaborated on Karmen’s design, until they felt they had a great product. And they were not alone. Executives at QVC agreed with them, as did viewers of the TODAY SHOW on NBC. And it should come as no surprise that AON’s evaluation team gave PediSand 3-Stars (our highest rating).

Out of 2000 entries, PediSand was selected as the first place winner in QVC Sprouts Contest which looks for the “next big thing”. Check it out. PediSand is now available on Amazon for $10.00 less than original price on QVC. It’s great for men and women, making it a cinch to give yourself a pedicure, without bending over, and the perfect gift for anyone with back pain or limited mobility.
